We got married! (Huzzah!) And people keep asking for photos, videos, etc. of the whole thing so this is where I’m putting a write-up of the whole shindig. It was a combined DIY effort with lots of help and love and support from our family and friends. We had 180 people come from near and far to celebrate, the weather cooperated (thanks to the Southern tradition of burying the bourbon!), and we danced so much I was drenched with sweat the entire night. It was amazing!
Special shout outs to Traci Brewington (photographer), Grand Central Party (tent rental company), Demetrios in Atlanta (bride’s dress), Ken Bodin (DJ), Corky’s (catering), Mike Poston (officiant/uncle lol), and all of our friends who have helped along the way make the planning process painless and easy 🙂 The event went off without a hitch and we had a blast!!!

One of the reasons we decided to have an outdoor wedding at my parents’ house was not only because their property is gorgeous but because doing so would give us control over everything – from who catered to where we bought our booze, from the layout of the event space to the decorations. I’m also … Continue reading A DIY Wedding: Total Control
As we already have a wonderful house and two cats, we’ve gathered quite a bit of the usual house-hold type items one might normally gift. Some of the remaining items, or those that could stand to be replaced are on our Amazon registry. But we’ve also created a Honeymoon Registry through Honeyfund. Due to some … Continue reading Registry

In addition to hiring a professional photographer for the day, we also crowdsourced the photos meaning we asked everyone to take photos and share them online either with #schwannema (on FB, twitter and Instagram) or through WedPics, which is a free and totally awesome app. You can see our wedding album here. If you want to … Continue reading Photos
